Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
This policy explains how WavePaint processes personal data when you visit wavepaint.net or use the WavePaint browser application. The data controller is WavePaint, operated by Mariano Olmos Martín in Spain. Contact: contact@wavepaint.net.
Data processed by the editor
Waveform projects, imported files, annotations, and exports are processed locally in your browser unless a feature explicitly tells you otherwise. WavePaint does not upload the diagram you are drawing to its servers. Browser storage may be used to remember editor preferences or locally saved state.
Website and server data
Our hosting provider may record limited technical logs such as IP address, requested URL, date and time, user agent, referrer, and security events. We use this information to deliver the site, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and protect the service. Logs are retained only as long as reasonably required for those purposes or by law.
Information you submit
If you contact us or voluntarily join a product-update list, we process the details you provide, such as your email address and message, to answer the request or provide the requested communication. We do not sell email addresses or waveform content.
Analytics and advertising
WavePaint may use Google services, including Site Kit, Analytics, and AdSense, to understand site use and fund the free service. Depending on your location and consent choices, Google and its partners may process identifiers, cookie information, approximate location, device information, and interactions with content or ads. In regions where consent is required, non-essential storage and personalised advertising must not be used before valid consent.
Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at Google’s partner-sites policy. Advertising choices are also available through My Ad Center.
Legal bases
- Contract or requested steps: providing features or answering a request you initiate.
- Legitimate interests: operating, securing, debugging, and improving the service, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: non-essential cookies, personalised advertising, analytics where required, and optional marketing communications.
- Legal obligation: records or disclosures required by applicable law.
Recipients and international transfers
Data may be processed by service providers that host, secure, measure, or monetise the site. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area using an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
Your rights
Where the GDPR or similar law applies, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact contact@wavepaint.net. You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency or your local supervisory authority.
Children and policy changes
WavePaint is a technical tool and is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change; the date above identifies the latest version.
